Yvette Munroe is the founder and CEO of Covenant Community Partners. Mrs. Munroe is a veteran child advocate, educator, social worker, community activist, social entrepreneur, business leader, ordained minister and motivational speaker. She has served the community in a variety of ways and has throughout her work focused on addressing the unmet needs of children. For over 30 years she has served the communities in which she's lived  as a human service professional.  As the school's visionary and the catalyst for the organization of IDYL she brings a unique perspective and a strong, personal commitment to its success.  Yvette holds a bachelor's degree from Antioch College. She and her loving husband, share the distinct privilege of raising 2 very successful children.

Dr. CHRISTOPHER EDWARDS, Chairman of the Board

Christopher L. Edwards, Ph.D., BCB, IABMCP is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Psychoneuroendocrinologist, Medical Director of the Biofeedback Laboratory and Pediatric Neurology Service, and Director of the Chronic Pain Management Program at Duke University Medical Center. He is an expert in medical, educational, and sociocultural factors that influence health outcomes in diverse populations. He has written over 100 peer-reviewed published papers and several hundred national and international presentations.

LATOYA WILLIAMS, Board Secretary

Latoya Williams has 20 years of federal government service, 17 years of which she has served as an Administrative Professional with duties and responsibilities that included project management, strategic planning and creating and developing standard operational procedures for executive managers within governmental organizations. For the last 3 years she has served as a Budget Analyst in compiling monthly & quarterly budget reports, financial spreadsheets, organizational charts, and data reports for a portion of the government’s budget.  Latoya has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. She and her husband are also dedicated parents of 2 beautiful girls,one of which is of school age.


PAUL PARKER, Board member

Paul Parker is Owner and operator of Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill and Triangle Party Rentals. He was previously a level three support engineer in the eBusiness Network Services section at IBM Global Services. He implemented new technology and monitored systems. Some of his duties included supporting firewalls and upgrading software. Mr. Parker was formerly employed as a network services engineer at the Mount Sinai and New York University Medical Centers. He oversaw an operations team, designed new system architecture, and introduced new technologies. He also was a helpdesk analyst at Mount Sinai, where he led six team members in providing technical phone support and maintaining 3,000 system servers. Mr. Parker is a Cisco Certified Network Professional, a Microsoft Certified Professional, a Certified Novell Administrator, and an A+ Certified Technician. He earned his Cisco certifications from Mentor Technologies and a diploma from the Computer Career Center.


Tenekia Parker is Co-Owner of Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery and Grill and Triangle Party Rental. Mrs. Parker is currently employed with UNC Health Care as a Clinical Support Technician. She provides clinical support to patients and administrative support to Physicians. Mrs. Parker is an experienced software and hardware engineer with advanced skills in Internet technology, customer service, and office administration. Mrs. Parker was formerly a desk side engineer with IBM Global Services. Her responsibilities included training new staff, maintaining and updating networks, and troubleshooting in addition to a variety of other duties. Mrs. Parker was also a helpdesk analyst, maintaining and upgrading networks and software and providing customer assistance at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She as well worked at Mount Sinai as an office manager and provided technical and administrative assistance for the information systems department. Mrs. Parker holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts degree in information technology from Briarcliffe College, and an A+ Certified Technician.
